In preparation for my Postpartum Ceremony, I decided to create a vision board to guide and inspire me as I started a new phase in my life. Because I really enjoyed creating my own inspiration cards for postpartum time, I decided to make a new set of cards to suit the new stage as well.
How to Create Motherhood Affirmation Cards
I started this project by selecting the ideas that I wanted to incorporate in the cards, then found corresponding photos which I felt encapsulated something in the message. I ended up using a variety of pictures from favourite parts of my life, be they pets, garden, foods, travel etc. Then I finalised my affirmations and ensured they had an element of action as well as reflection.
Next I selected a filter to use to unify all the pictures in a similar colour scheme and style so the images looked more cohesive, then printed them out. I rounded off my vision board by adding some recent photos of my family members that I felt encapsulated their current interests, as well as my general parenting mission statement.
I found it a very meaningful experience, and hope it may inspire some readers to try a similar exercise! Be it for postpartum or another phase of life, creating these inspiration cards has been a special creative experience for me that I’m thankful I dedicated time to complete.
Whether you download my cards below or create your own, I wish you the best in your parenting journey!
